Wao akua began with photographs of trees and the landscape around me. Working with photographic transfers on wood panels, I build surfaces through layers of imagery, pigment, resin, and thread.
My process involves collecting, combining, obscuring, and interrupting images and materials. I work intuitively, making decisions through observation and experimentation, often adding or removing elements as the composition develops.
